VISION STATEMENT

By working together through athletics, students, parents, coaches will be able to discover an activity that promotes their own personal growth and the growth of the sport and thus achieve success for all parties throughout their life.

PHILOSOPHY

I. Participation

•  Emphasize ‘all shall play' at the “B” level of play

•  Emphasize a competitive program at the “A” level of play

•  Balance competition with cooperation

•  Encourage lifelong participation in activities

•  Athletes attend all practices

III. Skill building

•  Emphasize increased skill building

•  Develop age appropriate fundamental skills

•  Athletes make effort to acquire skill

•  Develop skills as a foundation for improvement

III. Sportsmanship

•  Emphasize positive sportsmanship

•  Develop a positive team attitude

•  Encourage, cooperate and collaborate with peers

•  Present positive role models that demonstrate self control and (mutual) respect

IV.  No Cut/Playing Time

•  In Middle School, the philosophy is that every student has the opportunity to participate on an interscholastic team. There are no cuts— meaning every student who wants to play is accepted on a team. However, this requires that the student:

•  Attend practices

•  Makes an effort to acquire skills

•  Has a positive attitude.

•  While coaches will make an effort to ensure playing time for all, there is no guarantee for ‘equal' playing time but do support and uphold an ‘all shall play' philosophy.
