What is all the hype about WEB 2.0?

In my quest to understand, I have put together this page of information and links that you can use to explore the concepts and examples and learn at your own pace.

To begin with, letÕs see what OÕRiely says about the question:  What is Web 2.0?

Now, click here -ˆ This link by itself is enough to keep you entertained for a few weeks!   You can set it to show the most recently added sites at the beginning.   I made it my home page so that every day, I see the newly added sites.

Want more?  All things web 2.0 Ð lists award winning Web 2.0 sites/appsÉ  This is fun but I like the last one better.

HereÕs a real Web 2.0 treat!  Take a look at this Oregon elementary schoolÕs web site: Meriwether Lewis Elementary :  http://lewiselementary.org/.

They use Trumba, for their site calendar. Word press for their editing of web documents and Gallery  for a photo display which allows who ever they allow to upload pictures to their site from their blackberries or digital camera phones, etcÉ  ThatÕs just the beginning!  They have language translators, maps, blogs, rss feeds, podcasts, and more is added all the time.  It's amazing.  I have to wonder, ÒWho has time to do this?Ó

M Lewis Elementary has their district boundaries overlaid onto google maps and then posted on their web site.  I want to know how they do this!!!

Looks like they use this to overlay:  Download of Shape2Earth Beta2 is found toward the bottom of this blog.

Here are a few more Web 2.0 apps that look like fun!
