Naches Valley Middle School

Naches Valley Middle School will hold its 2nd Annual 7th and 8th grade Battle of the Books contest AND it's 5th annual 5th and 6th grade contest in late May. Students are signing up for this voluntary activity to read a list of award-winning books of various genre that have been selected for this year's contest. Students need to form teams of three or four members each to read this year's selections. The contest consists of a quiz-type contest where the answers to questions are always the titles of the books. the objective of the contest is to determine which team is most knowledgeable about the books. Each teams reads the question which is read aloud and displayed on the projector screen. Members of each team collaboratively agree upon an answer to each displayed question and write it down. Answer sheets are collected and scored. Usually, the contest is done in rounds, where a fewer number of teams proceed to each round.
